Rather than announce itself as a brash newcomer, the design relates to the comfortable scale and quality of the neighborhood within a space that is new and generous in a contemporary way.
Familiar details, colors, materials, and fixtures found in many New York buildings were paired with less common features- a cedar security entry gate, copper tables, an operable window allowing ice cream to be served directly onto the street, a deep red bathroom, a custom white marble hand rinse basin, linen and leather seat cushions, and a custom designed refrigerated display case to define a comfortably modern neighborhood hangout.
