Jonathan Garnett
Senior Associate

Jonathan Garnett earned a Masters in Architecture from the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCIArc) in 2003. At SCIArc, he was awarded Best Graduate Thesis and the Henry Adams AIA Excellence in Design Award. In 1998, he earned a Bachelor of Arts, concentrating in Industrial and Graphic Design, from the University of Michigan School of Art & Design where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. While at the University of Michigan, Jonathan was awarded the Industrial Designers Society of America Northeast Region Excellence in Design Award, the International Design Conference in Aspen Student Merit Award, and the Anderson Consulting “Future of Work” prize for projects completed during his studies.

Before joining Solomonoff Architecture Studio, Jonathan worked in Los Angeles, first for Design Office, where he was the lead designer for an interactive conference table for IBM, then for George Yu Architects where he was a lead designer for Sony’s North American Design Center and for a private residence and gallery for two art collectors. While in Los Angeles, he led the schematic design development of exhibited work at both the Venice and Rotterdam Biennales, and has co-taught graduate design studio at SCIArc.

Since joining SAS, Jonathan has collaborated on the design of a range of residential, commercial, and competition projects.

Jonathan is a Senior Associate at SAS in charge of various projects as well as managing the office’s daily operations.
